Biolab was founded in Milan in 1970 as an independent analysis laboratory specialising in assays and controls, and in biological,microbiological, and chemical determinations. Than, the Biolab Group has continued to grow, subsequently launching a network of delegations, laboratories, auditors, and consultants distributed throughout Italy. Thanks to this growth, Biolab is able to guarantee quick intervention throughout Italy.This makes for highly efficient coordination in carrying out inspection and control programmes on a countrywide basis, thus guaranteeing homogeneity of both procedures and quality standards. Thanks to the integration of these skills and experiences, the Biolab Group is able to offer its clients a very wide range of services.

Biolab services are aimed at solving the major problems that affect the following sectors: 

-  CHEMICAL-PHARMACEUTICAL SECTOR (includes the pharmaceutical and dietetic industries, health care products, Medical Devices, biocides, phytopharmacons and chemical substances) 
-  CONSUMER GOODS (includes cosmetics, detergents and cleaning products, toys, childcare products and the packaging industry)
-  FOOD (includes food industry and traditional products sector, foodstuff distribution and  the catering sector)
-  AGRICULTURE, LIVESTOCK HUSBANDRY AND FISHING (includes all sorts of production from the primary sector: cereals, fruit and vegetables, plants and flowers, seeds, oils, wines, livestock, fish and aquiculture) 

All Biolab laboratories carry out their tests according to Norm EN 45001 (ISO/IEC 17025). The inspection structures operate according to Norm EN 45004.
